got new pet, wanted to see evolutions
but he keeps the old name of my other pet
is there no way to give him the "hearthy wolf or elder or whatever" name back again? |

I dont think that was the question, and I believe that the answer is presently "no", if you remane your pet, you will be unable to see the evolution prefixes for it, and any subsequent pet.

Thing is if you don't rename it, it might get confused if there is more than one ranger with the same type of pet. Anet should fix this. I managed to figure out my pet's evolution though it was far from straightforward - Elder Melandru Stalker

I tested it yesterday. It works just fine. My pet's name returned to default and then I renamed him again.
I have a playful warthog. |
